Tillamook Opens Screen Door Restaurant at Portland’s Airport

Screen Door, the popular Portland Southern comfort food restaurant with its notoriously long lines at its location on East Burnside Street, is opening an outpost at Portland International Airport in 2021.

The Port of Portland, which owns and operates PDX, announced on Tuesday that Screen Door was expected to open an outpost that would serve breakfast all day long at the airport in the 2021. The port’s board must first approve the lease negotiations on Wednesday with Screen Door and eight other new food or retail locations in two different concourses.

Screen Door, Tillamook and a new “women in aviation” themed bar named Juliett from Portland bar purveyors Lightning Bar Collective, headline the new list of potential airport attractions.

Screen Door and Good Coffee will open locations in Concourse B as part of forthcoming renovations scheduled to finish in spring 2021. Seven other bars, restaurants or retail shops, are expected to open in the new extension of Concourse E set to be completed in summer 2020.

We’re always looking for ways to reduce barriers to entry into our concessions program and the overwhelming response to tweaks we made in our processes was successful,” said Shane Andreasen, interim director of terminal business and properties. “We are excited about this mix of familiar and new offerings for PDX. We focused on companies that could deliver the best customer experience possible. We also paid close attention to quality employers who appreciate the value each employee brings to the job.”
